When the Standard Examiner said that they wanted to do a story on me, I was like "Oh my hell, yes!" Then they said that they wanted to get photos of me body painting a breast cancer survivor. There were only 2 problems, I didn't have a breast cancer survivor to paint and I had no idea what I was going to paint.
Enter Jamie Grant: the beautiful, amazing woman that I had painted for the Canvas of Cancer book. Not only was she so excited to get painted again, but she was willing to commit to a full day of being painted and photographed and with only a week's notice. When i asked her if she had any ideas what she wanted to be painted as she sent me a few photos as ideas and when she sent me a photo of a stormtrooper from Star Wars and said that was her husband's favorite, I knew we had found our inspiration.
Here are some of the photos I used for inspiration, especially the stormtrooper who is all torn up and looks like he's been through battle. Jamie has definitely been through a battle, she has had breast cancer, a double mastectomy and is still positive, happy and living every moment to the fullest. Jamie is an amazing model and was so patient through the 6 hour process of transforming her into a Star Wars, dark side, armor clad soldier. She wears it so well and it completely suits her personality.
