As soon as I saw this photo of Mercedes, I knew that I wanted her to be my Merida!  She had just that right balance of edgy and beauty that I think Merida would have if she turned "Assassin."


Our theme for the month was "Divergent Disney." We had to pick a Disney princess and put a twist on her. Merida was my first pick because not only is she totally bad-tail, but she is the kind of princess I think I would be. Plus I've always loved anything Celtic or Scottish. 

I used the outfit on the far left as my inspiration, but changed up the colors because white was not at all practical for a girl who shoots arrows and stalks prey in the woods. I wanted her outfit to have more of an organic feel to it. 

Mercedes was so much fun to work with. As you can tell from the photos, I had a BLAST working with her. She's quirky, silly and ended up fulfilling my Merida ideal perfectly!!
